the price

feeling safe

is

tightening ropes

&

locking chains around a heart

ς

the price paid for feeling safe

is

no hands to hold

no lips to kiss

no one to hug

no hugs in return

&

freedom

… so much to think about, here … so painful …but very well written. My hugs aren’t quite the same, but I’m sending them anyway….

brings up many thoughts, a time when i kept those ropes and chains firmly in place but the freedom wasn’t worth the price and it was more freeing to cut them away once i realised i had found trust again.

I see you caught the gist of my freedom reference. Being free from others is really like being bound. I am bound by these chains but I remain free of hurt due to mistrust.
