on a bridge ~

they stood quietly observing the city of lights,
as its reflection danced gently
in the river below ≈ ≈
it was the end of the day,
all of the lamps were ablaze
and
the streets were slowly clearing ~
except for lovers walking
and
holding each other close…

thank you – I do not typically write this way.
i have recently been approached to guest blog and i am not certain if i can do it. most of the other guest blogger’s have written these beautiful pieces – kinda like articles – and sometimes they move into some sort of prose or poem. eek – it is freaking me out. i do not want to say no – i actually agreed – but i am paralyzed as to the writing. ughhh.

I know that feeling! I’m not familiar with the ins and outs of guest blogging, but I think it’s quite an honor, so congrats! 🙂 But I get the paralysis, too. I don’t work well under pressure. Perhaps try the stream of consciousness exercise? Or approach it as though it were just another piece for your own blog; that’s likely what impressed them enough to invite you, so I don’t think you can go wrong 🙂 Send me a link when it goes up, I’d love to read it! Hugs 🙂

Thanks for your advice. I am thinking I will try your technique. I am in the middle of a serious personal matter right now, so I am having trouble writing, but then I do because I am desperate to get out of my head.
