Weekly Photo Challenge – Enveloped

J & Pee

Jordan loves his sister.

The above photo was taken in January before Jordan returned to school from winter break.  He misses her greatly and I wish – sometimes – I could ship her down state to the University. Picture a big crate with air holes and wrapped in caution tape – “Beware of Deadly Beast”.

Next week (in 7 days – yes, I am counting) he leaves for Los Angeles (in a car, with two other people – girls).  I have been trying to figure out how to squeeze her in a suitcase…

Weekly Photo Challenge – Motion

the final leg of the last relay of the last year of middle school….

It was a typical COLD May morning in the NW ‘burbs of Chicago – complete with wind and rain.  As always, the 8th grade boys ran their relays last – and this was the sectional tournament, thus many schools, many teams and many hours spent in the rain, in the wind – in the friggin’ cold.  The young man above is my son and he was coming in hard… I was not certain if I could catch a photo of the wind but I did!!  I wish I had a different camera, other than my i-phone (this photo was shot in 2012), however, it doesn’t really matter.  Peyton loves this picture.  His words were:

“Wow! I am airborne!  Cool shot Mimz!”

🙂

Love in Ten Sentences

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Passion through Poetry for asking me to join the Love in Ten Sentences challenge. The challenge is as follows – write a poem about love consisting of 10 lines, each 4 words and the word ‘love’ must be one of the four.  At the end of the poem, include a favorite quote about love. When all is complete, challenge ten other bloggers to participate.   Here they are…

 ♥

Words for my J,P and P

your eyes speak love.

your actions breathe love.

your heart beats love.

your smile radiates love.

your laughter sings love.

your love brings hope.

your love sustains me.

you embody my love.

you are my love.

my love is you.

“Convert my love into a soothing pain eraser.”

A quote from Jordan – my son.

Again , I would like to thank Passion through Poetry – http://movingtowardsthelight.com/ – for a ‘lovely’ challenge!

Okay y’all – off to ‘love’ town you go!

Weekly Photo Challenge – Wall

~

~

134 door

a door frame at our old two flat

~

~

As usual, I had to skew the rules of this week’s photo challenge.  As you can see, the photograph is that of a door frame – not a wall.  In my mind, a door frame could be considered part of a wall, so… this is a wall.

This photo is actually one of several due to the fact I wanted to be able to see the details.  In case you are wondering, this is a quintessential growth chart.  It began in 2002 and was actually moved next door (in 2007) when our friend re-fabricated his kitchen.  I transferred the information from the piece of wood to the frame above and, of course, we added on…  I took this photo a few days before we moved in April, 2013.  (By the way, I was given the original door frame, which is still with us to this day.)

If you look very closely, you can see my name (mom) and when J and P passed me up!
