more squirrelly thoughts

the past is finite

the future is infinite

the present – it just is……

all in a manner of speaking

inspired by a ‘past’ movie night with my boys – X-Men: Days of Future Past

(ps:  I enjoyed the movie very much, although I did need a chaser of Tylenol afterward.

Thank heavens I have Marvel geeks for sons!!)

~ standing ~

in front of us

stands time.

never knowing how much,

how little.

staring and wondering,

wanting to touch it.

to grab and

hold tight ~ never wanting to let go.

though standing

in front of us ~

time is not still ~ always

crawling, walking, running, leaping ~

beyond what we can see and not

time will always lead.

I will always follow ~ until

time no longer stands

in front

Happy 20th Pnut!

I am in shock

in awe

in a state of disbelief

I am amazed

20 years

could fly by

on a breeze

South Rim of the Grand Canyon!!

Actually Jordan is jumping!!!  Not certain if there is a breeze but, yes he is really jumping and this photo, believe it or not, was neither tweaked, photo shopped or anything of the like!  (Honestly, I asked.)  It seemed Jordan kept jumping like a jack-in-the-box and Peyton took rapid shots with his i-phone and this is the ‘highest point’ picture!

one month is almost over ~

another month is about to arrive ~

two more months will bring the end of a year ~

followed by a new one in which i hope to survive*….

it seems time is moving faster and faster

as each year keeps passing me by

i can not help but wonder ~

how many more years

‘my life’

once upon a time…

i remember when Power Rangers ruled the world

light sabers were the toy of choice ~

Batman socks were not allowed to be washed

Darth Vader capes had to be worn.

hours were spent on the couch watching Star Wars

~ every movie ~

chapters one through six

we could never get enough of a T-Rex

eating everything in its midst.

~ now ~

it is about fantasy football,

college entrance exams

apps to download,

making some bucks

to buy some stuff

typing texts to friends upon friends.

he was my little baby ~

almost 9 lbs of sweet and cuddly coos

with barely a hair on his head,

chunky little cheeks

two eyes full of baby blue.

he is 5′-11″,

long and lean with an athlete’s build,

two eyes of hazel,

muscular, hairy legs

in possession of some serious cooking skills.

I keep wondering when and how this all happened,

17 years

have come and gone,

what I do know for certain

is I could not be more proud,

of my baby boy

what he has become….

once upon a very long time……

in the beginning

in the beginning…

at the present time

in cooking form – fave shorts, shirt, socks…

first day of work

Mr. Professional….

Happy Birthday Peyton!

a fall finale

dancing with the wind

impending death fuels life

resurrection awaits its turn

broken words

they are memories

stacked upon a shelf

warped grooves upon vinyl circles ~ ~ ~

broken records.

still existing

after years of wear and tear

resulting in relentless repetition

endless skipping…

never changing…

~ ~ ~

broken songs

~ not really ~

broken thoughts

cannot be tossed

life metaphor #2

from point A to point B

all the points in between

the sites along the paths

of the highways that we see………

the roads we travel are neither straight or smooth –

they are an assortment of

routes all designed to make us move………….

the days and seasons

daylight rises high

twinkling stars flood the night sky

my world spins around.

naked in winter

dressed in summer tip to toe

burlesque in the fall.
